The food is outstanding, since moving to Lindsay and depend on public transportation I have been unable to enjoy the trip tip sandwiche. I buy two so I can enjoy the leftovers, please tell me you have delivery service. Thank you and happy new year!!

Amazing food and friendly service. I definitely will go there often. Not too pricey either compared to other bbq restaurants

I don't live in the area but any time I come up to visit family, this is THE place I have to eat at. In most cases, multiple times during my visit. This is by far the best BBQ I've had anywhere. The inside is great and feels like home. The service is always friendly and personable. I also love that it's not close by me because anytime I'm up in the area it's a special place to come and savor every bite.

Well, I'm at the barbecue, a follow up to my previous visit, at which I was disappointed a bit in the chicken dinner. This time I went for a pulled pork sandwich. to repeat the place is clean place to die. The sandwich was out in about seven or eight minutes. To my delight, the sandwich was quite good. Even without adding sauce, the pork was quite juicy, properly cooked, and very tasty. Served on a grilled garlic bread bun--there's nothing but good to say about it. Some places include, for example, slaw and pickles on a pulled pork sandwich, and I am in favor of this; the Anvil version had neither, but it was still quite good. I did have a side of slaw, which I rather liked. Not too much mayo, a bit of a spicy kick just under the radar. I am pleased to report "two thumbs up" for this visit, and I look forward to more like it in the future. I see from the cooking setup outside that their meat is grilled over an oak fire, which is a good thing. It is not smoked (my preference) - - this requires a closed unit with a firebox on the side - - but they're doing a fine job. Long live the Anvil!

4 stars for customer service but honestly the beans need more flavor and the brisket sandwhich needed stuff added to it, it had no sauce or anything just meat and bread, .. Maybe you have to ask for it I don't know..id try again just maybe ask to put more stuff in sandwich

Was driving back from the sequoias and found this great gem. We didn't want to stop for fast food, or go out of our route back, so we waited to reach Porterville and stumbled upon this amazing bbq place. We had a tri tip sandwich, ribs, sweet beans and potato salad and everything was absolutely delicious. There were no leftovers. The woman who took our order was incredibly sweet, we'll definitely be back on our next trip.

What a find!! A little hole in the wall, driving through to the Sequoias. Amazing pulled pork sandwich, brisket, baked beans etc. can't recommend it enough!!!

If you want barbecue in the city of Porterville to this is one of the top places to get it. Their beans are amazing and their barbecue is delicious . The service is fast

My ribs were perfectly done and tasty. Pasta salad was good too. Cute little place and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is a nice little gem in Porterville. The food is always delicious if you're a fan of barbecue I haven't ever ordered anything except the Hobo Sandwich, which is tri tip shredded with grilled onions on a crispy, french hoagie roll, smothered in your choice if barbecue sauce (sweet or spicy). I always opt for spicy. It's about 15 dollars per person and well worth it, as the food is extremely filling. There is also a little side bar with condiments of your choosing, including extra BBQ sauces, peppercloncinis, jalapeños, salsa, etc. I recommend grabbing plenty of napkins, something to drink from either the fountain drinks or the fridge and sitting at one of the picnic tables outside.
